Jeonju-si joined hands with Denmark in a move to environment-friendliness

Jeonju-si, Jeonbuk-do is to interact with Denmark, at the forefront of world's environment friendliness, to become a sustainable city.

Jeonju city's mayor met with Einar Jensen on July 16, Denmark's ambassador to Korea, and had discussion on how Jeonju and Denmark will cooperate to achieve SDGs.

The meeting was held at the request of Embassy of Denmark in Korea. Denmark showed interest in biogas upgrading, and promised cooperation.

They also talked about various eco-friendly policies such as Denmark's recycling and international exchange methods in diverse fields such as energy, art, and education.

Jeonju's mayor also introduced Jeonju's hydrogen pilot city project and energy design 3040 policy.

The mayor mentioned that "Denmark is a leading country in such policies as carbon neutrality and climate change, and has a lot of potential for exchange with Jeonju as it is preparing Green New Deal," adding "we will emerge as a global city by leading 2050 carbon neutrality endeavor and ramping up the foundation for growth of the bio industry."
