Jeollabuk-do announced on November 12 that it had held the inauguration ceremony of the ‘Jeonbuk-do Metaverse Council’ and invited experts to foster the metaverse industry in Jeollabuk-do.

With participation of the governor of Jeollabuk-do, metaverse companies, mobile communication companies and broadcast media companies, and officials from relevant organizations, there was a council launching ceremony and discussion on how to foster the metaverse industry.

The Jeollabuk-do metaverse council is to be led by industry-university-research and supported by the provincial government to lead the era of metaverse.

The council consists of about 30 companies and institutions: 17 content and media companies including ▲LG Electronics ▲The Garam ▲Joigram ▲KT ▲JTV ▲K-Holo ▲YAP and ;13 organizations including ▲Jamboree Organizing Committee ▲Land and Geospatial Informatrix Corporationn, and ▲Wonkwang University.

In the council, various project groups will be operated, such as ▲ a group that discovers and plans metaverse services through collaboration between companies, ▲ a group that shares the metaverse industries and technology trends, and ▲ a group that discovers support measures for expanding metaverse services.

Jeollabuk-do, with the vision of 'Digital leap forward of Jeollabuk-do through Metaverse,' has announced three promotion strategies including ▲ Drive Jeollabuk-do style New Deal with Metaverse ▲ Preemptive support for the Metaverse ecosystem based on K-New Deal 2.0 and ▲ Expanding corporate support with the public Metaverse, and 8 tasks to implement these strategies.

Jeollabuk-do plans to actively work towards discovering metaverse services, producing and demonstrating contents and creating metaverse-related jobs in conjunction with the Jeollabukdo Contents Convergence Promotion Agency, Jeonbuk Digital Convergence Center, and Jeollabuk-do Metaverse Council.

In the following discussion, participants shared opinions on the metaverse service specific to Jeollabuk-do, preparations needed to foster the metaverse industry, and ways to create jobs through the metaverse.
