The site area is 21.3 ha, about 30 times that of a soccer field.

The Smart Farm Innovation Valley is an agricultural facility built by the government in four regions across the country to foster young farmers, support rental smart farms, and research future agricultural technologies.

The Smart Farm Innovation Valley in Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, will begin operation on December 15, and facilities are under construction in Goheung, Jeollanam-do and Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, with the goal of completion in the first half of next year.

The youth entrepreneurship incubation center at each facility will provide smart farm-related education services to prospective young farmers for 20 months. In particular, outstanding educatees will receive support to start a business in a rental large-scale smart farm for 3 years.

In the Smart Farm Innovation Valley, there will also be a 'Smart Farm Demonstration Complex' that supports companies to demonstrate smart farm technology, and a 'Big Data Center' that collects smart farm-related data and uses it as basic resources for building big data.

Jeollabuk-do is set to lay the foundation for digital agriculture by developing and distributing ICT equipment through smart farm demonstration greenhouses and big data centers, and analyzing big data with artificial intelligence.
