According to Newsis,

It was reported that exports and imports of Jeollabuk-do in January this year increased year-on-year.

According to 'Jeollabuk-do exports and imports trends in January 2022' published by Customs Office of Jeonju on Febrary 11, the exports in the province in January reached USD 748 million, up 34.4% on-year (USD 557 million).

And the exports recorded USD 529 million, up 15.2% year-on-year, while trade balance was in USD 219 million surplus, jumping 123.4% from the previous year.

By item, exports increased in chemical products (31.5%), steel products (19.8%), transport equipment (14.4%), machinery (11.2%), food and beverage (4.6%), while imports rose in grains (15.3%), electronics (9.8%), and light industry raw materials (7.7%).

By country, exports increased to the US (20.7%), Southeast Asia (18.8%), China (17.7%), EU (13.1%), and Japan. Meanwhile, imports increased from Japan (14.3%), Southeast Asia (12.6%), Latin America (12.2%), and the US (11.5%), but decreased from China (21.9%).
