According to Newsis,

Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency (SDIA) will participate in 'xEV Trend Korea 2022' scheduled for March 17-19 at COEX in Seoul to attract investment from companies involved in electric vehicles (EV) and secondary battery for EVs.

Hosted by the Ministry of Environment, 'xEV Trend Korea 2022' is Korea's representative eco-friendly automobile exhibition, in which 150 domestic and foreign companies take part to share international trends and new vehicle information under the theme of EVs.

This event is important as a venue for communication between government agencies and related companies to achieve the government's 2050 carbon neutral policy and the goal of rolling out 500,000 zero-emission vehicles by 2022, announced last year.

Carbon neutral is the concept of making the actual amount of carbon dioxide '0' by taking measures to absorb carbon dioxide as much as it has been emitted.

As investment is continued from EVs and Electric parts companies, and secondary battery companies, an eco-friendly energy source, in Saemangeum Future Car Cooperation Area, the SDIA expects synergy effect between these companies.

SDIA's Administrator said, "Global companies are participating in the 'RE100 campaign' to realize carbon neutrality," adding "Saemangeum is currently working for designation of smart green national industrial complex to create the industrial complex that realize the RE100 for the first time in Korea."

Meanwhile, the SDIA is to operate a PR hall on the site during the event period, planning to introduce appealing investment environment such as eco-friendly vehicle regulation free zone, Gunsan InnoTown, and Gunsan-style job creation project, as well as Saemangeum's plan to create eco-friendly future car cooperation area.
