According to Yonhap News,

Jeollabuk-do announced on March 21 that it held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Energy Industry Convergence Complex Comprehensive Support Center (hereinafter referred to as the Comprehensive Support Center) at the 2nd section of the Saemangeum Industrial Complex.

The Comprehensive Support Center serves as a comprehensive platform and control tower supporting Saemangeum resident companies and research institutes in the energy sector.

It also helps R&D and commercialization through exchanges between domestic and foreign energy companies and industry-university-research connection.

The comprehensive support center will be built as 5-story building with a total floor area of 5,844㎡.

Inside the Center will be 16 rental offices including a power exchange center, legal support center, and seminar rooms, as well as a restaurant, and a fitness room.

The goal is to complete its construction in July next year, with the project budget of KRW 20 billion.

The government is creating energy industry convergence complexes in six places across the country, including Saemangeum, with a goal to increase the ratio of renewable power generation to 20% by 2030.

When designated as an energy industry convergence complex, there will be incentives such as tax reduction and subsidy in addition to the financial support given to the existing industrial complex.
