According to Yonhap News,

Two companies producing secondary battery materials are scheduled to move into the Saemangeum Industrial Complex.

Gunsan-si and Jeollabuk-do said that they had signed an investment agreement with DS Techopia, a procuder of OLED materials and semiconductor materials, and Battery Solution, a producer of cathode materials for secondary batteries on March 28.

Duksan Techopia, founded in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do in 2006, will invest KRW 74 billion by 2024 in 93,000 square meters in the Zone 2, Saemangeum Industrial Complex.

It plans to build a plant to manufacture electrolytes, one of the components of secondary batteries, and hire 90 people.

Battery Solution will also invest KRW 27.4 billion in 16,000 square meters in the Zone 2, Saemangeum Industrial Complex by next year.

It plans to hire 24 people and produce cathode materials for secondary batteries for high-performance electric vehicles.

The city expects that Saemangeum will grow into a mecca of the future car industry and revitalize the Jeollabuk-do economy through large-scale investment of core material producers for secondary batteries, including the investment by Cheonbo BLS last year.
