According to Yonhap News,

Jeollabuk-do announced on April 1 that the 'Jipyeong Line 2 General Industrial Complex Creation Project' of Gimje-si passed the industrial location policy deliberation of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT).

The Industrial Location Policy Deliberation Committee is a committee under the jurisdiction of the MOLIT that deliberates on major issues of industrial location policies by province and city. The industrial complex can be constructed only after passing the deliberation.

Jipyeong 2nd General Industrial Complex will be built on an area of 895,000 square meters in Sangdong-dong, Gimje, by investing KRW 171.2 billion until 2027.

As downtwon Gimje is closely located to Jeonju and Wanju Innovation City, it is expected that the supply of manpower will be easy. Also, it also reduces logistical cost due to its close distance with highway interchanges.

When the construction of the industrial complex is completed as planned, it is expected to create 3,500 jobs and induce economy effect of KRW 236 billion.

The provincial government said 28 companies submitted letters of intent to move-in, achieving 100% of the demand for occupancy prior to the establishment of the industrial complex.
