According to Yonhap News,

A Chinese company has built a factory that produces "tungsten oxide" in the Saemangeum National Industrial Complex in Jeonbuk State.

The Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency (SDIA) said that a Chinese company, " TUNGAMOY METALS INC. ", held an inauguration ceremony at Saemangeum Industrial Complex 2.

SDIA said that it is the first time that a Chinese company alone has invested in the Saemangeum Industrial Complex.

The company established an automated production lines for tungsten oxide, which is highly dependent on imports, by investing USD 13 million and building a factory on a 10,000㎡ site.

Tungsten oxide is an inorganic compound composed of tungsten and oxygen, which is used to control air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and for gas and humidity sensors.

SDIA estimates that 1,500 tons of tungsten oxide (including sodium tungstate) per year will be produced at this plant.
