According to Pulse by Maeil Business News Korea,

OCI Co., a South Korean manufacturer of polysilicon, announced on Tuesday that it has launched the construction of a special materials plant to produce silicon anodes for secondary batteries.

The company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the plant in Gunsan Industrial Complex in North Jeolla Province.

The factory construction is part of a long-term contract signed with Nexeon Ltd. in July 2023 for the supply of special materials for the production of silicon anodes.

With an initial annual production capacity of about 1,000 tons, the plant will supply Nexeon with special materials over the five years starting in 2025.
