According to Yonhap News,

It has been found that the number of tourists visiting Jeonbuk in the first half of this year was close to 50 million.

Jeonbuk State said on August 2 that its analysis on the statistics of the "Korea Tourism Data Lab" by the Korea Tourism Organization showed that the number of tourists to Jeonbuk in January-June was 47.354247 million.

It is 2.4% up year-on-year.

The average duration of stay was 2,922 minutes, higher than the average (2,418 minutes) of other local regions.

By age group, those in their 20s (19.1%) top the list, followed by 50s (19%), 30s (15.7%), and 40s (15.6%).

The number of foreign visitors was 260,000, up 207% from last year. Of them, Americans and Chinese accounted for the largest share.

The number of tourists who stayed more than one night was 7.95 million, with an average stay of 2.79 days.

Tourists cited food (59%) as the main reason for visiting Jeonbuk, followed by accommodation (11%) and culture and tourism (9%).

An official from the provincial government said, "we will make an effort to achieve the goal of achieving 100 million tourists this year with active marketing activities targeting both domestic and foreign tourists."
