According to Yonhap News,

On August 20, Namwon-si, Jeonbuk State announced that it will build a testing/skin clinical center for natural cosmetics at Noamdong Industrial Complex by 2026.

The center will be a facility that certifies after testing whether cosmectics made of natural materials are suitable for humans through skin clinical trials.

It will be used by cosmetics manufacturers located in Jeonbuk State, Jeonnam, Gwangju, and Gyeongnam.

About KRW 19 billion will be spent to build a center with four floors above the ground and a total building area of 1,080㎡ on a site of 4,066㎡.

It has been planned to begin construction this month, complete the construction next year, and start operation in the second half of 2026 after being equipped.

When the center is built, Namwon's "eco-friendly cosmetics industry cluster" will be completed, to make a leap-forward as a hub of the cosmetics industry.

Previously, the city has built infrastructure such as the Cosmetics Biz Center, a cosmetics industry support center, and a production facility for raw materials for natural cosmetics in the area and has attracted relevant companies.

The city's mayor emphasized that "the center will play a huge role in growing the city into a hub of the cosmetics industry and revitalizing the local economy."
