According to Yonhap News,

Having surpassed 3 million accumulative tourists this year, Iksan-si, Jeonbuk-do is stepping up its efforts to attract 5 million tourists.

On September 20, Iksan-si said that about 3 million tourists have visited Iksan until Chusoek holiday this year.

Compared to the last year, in which it was December that surpassed the 3 million mark, the city reached the mark 3 months earlier this year.

The city explained that this achievement is attributable to the promotion of tourist destinations by actively utilizing 'Year to visit Iksan" and introduction of various tourism products in line with domestic tourism trends.

In particular, the city made efforts to develop tourism products in step with the 2024 Tourism Trend (R.O.U.T.E.), proposed by the Korea Tourism Organization this year.

R.O.U.T.E. consists of five themes: Relax and empty your mind; One point travel; Undiscovered Place; Smart Technology-Based Travel; and Easy access for everyone.

Of five themes, the city selected 9 views and 3 joys under the subject of "Iksan Travel for Relax", developing and operating tourism products for all generations including Baekban travel and Iksan travel for 9 views and 3 joys.

It has also developed various railway-related tourism products in cooperation with the Jeonbuk branch of KORAIL to attract tourists from all over the country.

In addition, the city is also actively promoting Iksan as a city of history and culture that inherited the heritage of the Culture of Baekje.
