On September 24, Jeonbuk State held a "Food Innovations Workshop" jointly with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Lottel Hotel in Seoul.
The occasion has been prepared to strengthen cooperation based on the food-tech industry of Jeonbuk and food security strategy of UAE.
Foodtech, a combination of food and technology, refers to an industry that creates new added value by applying the latest information and communication technologies to the food industry.
Jeonbuk State introduced the operatoin of "Food Tech 42 Alliance," jointly established by food-tech companies, research institutes, and universities in the province to conduct reserach on plant-based alternative protein technology.
The UAE Embassy also introduced the trends in the country's agricultural and foodtech industries.
The two countries agreed to strengthen cooperation focused on foodtech and secure global competitiveness.
