(NAMWON = Yonhap News) — The city of Namwon in North Jeolla Province announced on August 5 that it will open the "Namwon Cosmetics Offline Store" at the Hanaro Mart Namwon Agricultural Cooperative Gojuk branch late this month, bringing together products from local cosmetics companies.
The retail venue will showcase and sell around 30 products manufactured by five cosmetics companies based in Namwon using natural material extracts sourced from the Mount Jiri region.
While these products were previously distributed primarily through online channels, the companies will now collaborate on offline sales to expand distribution networks and raise brand awareness.
The city plans to expand the opening of offline retail stores to major metropolitan cities if the store proves effective.
Namwon City is leaping forward as a "leading city in the eco-friendly cosmetics industry," equipped with infrastructure such as rental Knowledge Industry Centers for cosmetics firms, a Cosmetics Industry Support Center, natural cosmetic raw material production facilities, and excellent cosmetic manufacturing facilities (CGMP).
Yang Choong-mo, Mayor of Namwon City, stated, "This is an opportunity for consumers to access high-quality products made by local cosmetics companies using natural materials from the Mount Jiri region at affordable prices," adding, "We will strengthen our support to boost sales and enhance brand awareness for our local cosmetics enterprises."
