Support Center for National Food Cluster to Open on March 24th

According to Yonhap News,

 

The Support Center for National Food Cluster, under construction in Iksan, Jeonbuk, will have an inaugural meeting of board of directors on March 24th.

 

The Support Center is an affiliated organization of the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and will conduct research and development on the food industry cluster, construct and manage a designated industrial complex in the food industry, and support participating companies and agencies.

 

The office for the Support Center will be located at Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province until the Cluster is completed.

 

Director Gang Seung-gu of Jeonbuk Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Division, Iksan Mayor Yu Gi-sang, and Chairman Kim Hong-guk of Harim Corporation will be the executives of the Center.

 

The project to create National Food Cluster is to build an industrial complex for the food industry on the area of 2,376,000㎡ in Wanggung-myeon, Iksan City by investing KRW 550 billion from 2010 to 2015 and to attract about 100 food companies home and abroad and relevant research institutes.
