According to Yonhap News,
The Iksan National Food Cluster authority signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Development Agency East Netherlands to facilitate the food industry.
The signing ceremony took place at KINTEX in Ilsan earlier this month with Iksan Mayor Lee Han-su, Administrative Director of North Jeolla Province Jeong Heon-yul and others attending.
The parties agreed to facilitate matchmaking between food-related companies and research institutes of both countries, conduct a joint R&D and support technology transfer.
The Development Agency East Netherlands is a local government agency belonging to Gelderland that is home to Food Valley, Europe's representative food cluster.
"We expect to learn from the Development Agency East Netherlands that has accumulated know how and experiences in the food industry," said Mayor Lee.
A total of 550 billion won will be injected into building a 2.376 million square meter-national food cluster in Iksan with about 100 food companies and research institutes from home and abroad to occupy the complex.
