Sunchang County aims to attract visitors to Namdo sea tourism train which will begin operation September 27.

Governor Hwang Suk-ju and other officials test rode the S-train which departed Busan yesterday, to attract tourists to Sunchang.

The trial ride of the S-train, with about 200 representatives from the Korean Tourism Organization and more on board, was held yesterday. The train departed Busan, and stopped at Changwon, Central Station, Jinju, Hadong, Gwangyang, Suncheon and Yeosu Expo.

The S-train which will travel Namdo area is expected to attract many tourists to enjoy South Gyeongsang Province and marine tourism.

Sunchang County is developing a tourism product which will include a traditional village and Mount Gangcheon, targeting visitors from Busan and South Gyeongsang Province.

About 800 visitors will depart Busan and visit Sunchang next early next month, showing a positive sign in attracting visitors from Busan.

A Sunchang official noted that the county aims to attract three million tourists this year, adding that the county will also focus on upgrading the tourism industry by building a market system which the local government and related agencies cooperate.
