Jeonju Food Expo Draws Eyes from Foreign Buyers

According to the 11th International Fermented Food Expo, Jeonju, 52 foreign companies from 16 countries will display their unique fermented foods from each continent in a pavilion for foreign companies.

In addition, embassies and commercial attaches from Spain, Poland and eight other countries and about 50 global trade agencies and associations including the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry will also attend the event.

They will observe business performances of companies participating in the expo, support marketing activities and conduct market surveys.

Foreign buyers also express deep interest in Korean food.

In addition to AEON Group and Ito-Yokado, CGC Japan Group and Fuju Trading Co., Ltd will be visiting the expo.

The expo is expected to draw about 200 new food buyers from 18 countries, including KMT Trading from Southeast Asia and Lotte Mart(M) SDN•BHD, the largest distributor in Malaysia.

The 11th International Fermented Food Expo, Jeonju contributed to cultivating a new export route for fermented foods and facilitating regional economy last year, leading to business-to-business consultations of US 50.2 billion and sales more than USD 3.3 billion on site.

The 11th International Fermented Food Expo, Jeonju will be opened October 24 at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
