Gochang Holds Export Consultation Sessions

Gochang County held an export consultation session with 26 companies and foreign buyers.

The county announced that the session will bring contracts of annual USD 600,000 exports.

The session drew Korean companies which process fresh agricultural products, including wild berries, peppers, green tea and sweet potatoes, and 31 buyers from 13 countries, including the United States, China, Japan and Denmark.

Spring Vast, a company that supplies Koreans products to large stores in Hong Kong, noted that the Korean songs and dramas are drawing popularity with the Korean Wave, adding that more people look for Korean food and products that they have seen on TV.

It noted that it will also supply agricultural products produced in Gochang, designated as a bio-protected area by UNESCO, to high-end markets in Hong Kong.

Head of the KARGO International Kim Ju-han also noted that it will order 25,000 bottles of wine made with Gochang wild berries to penetrate the American market.

Gochang governor Lee Gang-su noted that agricultural products those produced in Gochang in a clean environment will satisfy overseas consumers, adding that the country will endeavor to bring mutual benefits for not only producers and distributors but also consumers.
