Gimje city of Jeonlabuk-Do is striving to attract corporate investors for its Horizon Industrial Complex.

With 90% of the construction complete, 10 corporations and 2 research institutions decided to invest in the complex. 200 workers hired by 4 corporations are currently running the production facilities, and a research center is being run by PhD level researchers of KITECH.

Among growing number of auto parts investors is Hanex Co., Ltd., a supplier of Tata Daewoo with its factory operating in the complex.

Samdong Hub Corporation, another auto parts manufacturer in Kyungju city, signed investment contract on May 15th and is now proceeding with its allocation contract.

On May 21st, Gimje vice mayor Lee, Suk-Bong visited auto parts manufacturers in Kyungju City to discuss investment potentials of the city as the industrial hub of automobiles and machineries with corporate executives.

“Inquiries are coming in from auto parts supply companies wishing to enter the complex. Forming a cluster of these companies within the complex would open up an opportunity to turn the complex into a new automobile industrial hub in Jeollabuk-Do,” he said.

Promotion activities are taking place for corporations that are willing to invest in the complex. With robust investment by corporations both home and abroad, more than 50% of the complex site is already sold, even before the construction is complete.
