(JEONJU=NEWSIS) North Jeolla Province announced on July 18 that it will conduct a demand survey on environment improvement project for SMEs to enhance the poor working conditions of SMEs.

North Jeolla Province and its cities will visit SMEs from July 21 for a month to decide the amount of investment for improving workers’ welfare and working conditions.

The Province will give budget support only when the SMEs upgrade their workers’ welfare and working conditions. The support will include building a gymnasium and leisure facility, health and hygiene facility, working environment facility and operating a commuting bus.

North Jeolla Province invested KRW 3.9 billion in 169 SMEs this year to improve their working environment.

"We will create a safe workplace by enhancing the poor working environment of SMEs and providing good quality jobs,” said a provincial official.
