(JEONJU=Yonhap News)North Jeolla Province is striving to lay the foundation for the leading u-turn companies in Korea.

According to North Jeolla Province on August 13, u-turn companies that are investing in the province include 23 fashion accessory companies, 3 machinery companies and 1 textile manufacturer.

This is more than a half of the total u-turn companies in Korea.

Therefore, North Jeolla Province is concentrating on preparing the infrastructure to attract u-turn companies and finding new u-turn companies.

The construction of a joint research and development (R&D) center in the third Iksan Industrial Complex is completed, which is to stabilize the settlement of u-turned fashion accessory companies and strengthen competitiveness. The construction of a plant for eight fashion accessory companies that began last October is also almost completed.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy, North Jeolla Province, KOTRA Iksan office and representatives of u-turn companies have gathered at Iksan City Hall on August 13 to talk about ways to vitalize u-turn companies including the updates on the joint R&D center, finding potential u-turn companies and systematically supporting them.
