Namwon City Expands Developing Green Agriculture

(NAMWON=NEWSIS) Namwon City announced January 5 that it will expand developing the green agriculture.

The sales of the green agricultural goods in Namwon have been increasing by 10~20 percent per month as the Namwon Horticultural Cooperative has been selected as the school food supplier for eco-friendly agricultural produce in Seoul.

The city will invest KRW 500 million in developing the distribution organization of eco-friendly agricultural goods of the Namwon Horticultural Cooperative to expand the supply of green agricultural produce. It also plans to systematize the production complex of green goods and build distribution facilities and equipment to secure distribution infrastructure for safe and hygienic distribution of eco-friendly goods.

The city will invest KRW 2.45 billion in organic fertilizers, KRW 1.38 billion in soil conditioners, KRW 600 million in eco-friendly agricultural materials and machines and KRW 200 million in expanding the production infrastructure of green agricultural goods.

Also, Namwon will invest KRW 263 million in supplying eco-friendly agricultural products to school-level institutions and daycare centers to strategically develop the eco-friendly agricultural industry.
