(SEJONG=NEWSIS) The Korea Agency for Saemangeum Development and Investment (KASDI) announced June 10 that it signed an investment agreement that is worth KRW 300 billion with CNPV, a solar panel manufacturer in China, at the investor relations session on Saemangeum.

CNPV will support building solar panel manufacturing facilities.

CNPV is the first Chinese company to sign a tenancy contract with KASDI. Other companies that have signed tenancy contracts with KASDI include OCISE, ICI, Tory, Solvay and ECS.

The combined investment of the six companies including CNPV amounts to KRW 1.6 trillion.

The CNPV’s investment in Korea is the first achievement following the agreement on the Saemangeum Korea-China Economic Cooperation Complex at the Korea-China Summit last July. It will act as a catalyst to facilitate Chinese investment in Korea.

CNPV will invest a total of KRW 300 billion to build solar modules and solar cell manufacturing facilities, which will create 300 new jobs.
