(JEONGEUP=Yonhap News) Jeongeup City announced June 8 that it signed investment agreements with Hyundai Energy Co., Ltd. and Woojin E&S Co., Ltd. to move to the Jeongeup high-tech science and industrial complex.

Hyundai Energy Co., Ltd., a solar equipment manufacturer and construction company, will invest KRW 2.5 billion in building a production facility on 4,945㎡ of land in the high-tech science and industrial complex.

Woojin E&S Co., Ltd., an electricity equipment manufacturer, will invest KRW 3 billion in the complex to relocate its headquarters, a research center and plant on a 3,836㎡ of land in the complex.

The city has revised the ordinance for investment promotion to facilitate investment in the high-tech science and industrial complex by supporting 20 percent of the land price as corporate subsidies.

The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology and Korea Institute of Toxicology have moved to the Jeongeup high-tech science and industrial complex (890,000㎡), which has convenient transportation access as it is close to Honam Expressway, National Route No.1 and Jeongeup Station.
