Gwangju City Signs KRW 91.2 Bn Investment Agreements with 13 Companies

(GWANGJU=NEWSIS) Gwangju City announced December 21 that it signed KRW 9.12 billion investment agreements with 13 companies including Korea Commercial Truck Co., Ltd. and Daedeok IMT Co., Ltd., which will create 492 new jobs.

By industries, four companies will invest KRW 30.9 billion in the automobile industry, 6 companies will invest KRW 30.4 billion in the energy industry and 3 companies will invest KRW 29.9 billion in the photonics industry.

Gwangju will remain Korea’s number one city for manufacturing special vehicles as Korea Commercial Truck Co., Ltd. and Daedeok IMT Co., Ltd. will invest KRW 10 billion and KRW 8 billion in Gwangju, respectively.

The investment from the 13 companies will help the city to become the Northeast Asia’s base for producing special vehicles and manufacture 1 million vehicles annually.
