(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) The Gwangju Main Customs announced January 13 that it will begin YES FTA consulting service to regional small- and medium-sized companies (SMEs) one month earlier than planned as the Korea-China free trade agreement (FTA) went into effect.

The YES FTA consulting service not only provides up to KRW 4 million of support and FTA-related consulting services to regional SMEs, but also help them establish the FTA-PASS system.

The beneficiaries will be export companies to China that do not yet have experience in utilizing the FTA or that are struggling to capitalize on the FTA.

A company wishing to receive the YES FTA consulting service must submit its appliction form by February 12 to the Gwangju Main Customs. The beneficiaries will be selected after evaluation.

"We will carry out the YES FTA consultign service to help SMEs that lack human resources, capital and information to make the best use of the FTAs," said a Gwangju Main Customs official.
