(GWANGJU=NEWSIS) Gwangju City Mayor Yoon Jang-hyeon will visit 29 regional hidden champions from February 22 to March 11 to encourage the workers and identify the difficulties faced by the companies.

"To nurture the regional hidden champions as the leading companies in Gwangju, we will complete the corporate diagnosis and consulting services in the first half of 2016 in order to provide tailored support for the companies in the second half of the year. We will listen to the grievances of the companies and review their opinions to prepare various support programs to create a business-friendly environment," said Yoon.

He also asked the hidden champions to promote research and development and conduct various marketing activities to become the core of the city’s economy and create more jobs.

To date, the city has supported 60 hidden champions since 2014. It plans to nurture 100 companies by 2017. The companies will receive financial support for maximum three years along with other supports including business consulting services, technology development and overseas marketing activities.
