Gwangju Hold 'Sales Day' in its Sister City Guangzhou

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju city gained meaningful achievements from 'Gwangju Sales Day' event held at a hotel in Guangzhou, China to mark its 20th anniversary of establishing a sisterhood relationship.

Organizers of the event including Gwangju Mayor Yoon Jang-hyun promoted and merchandised local products while Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and the city's green car promotion institute presented on the energy and automotive industry and investment strategy.

Agreement for investment and export amounting USD 91 million was signed as well.

Local investment firm pledged to invest USD 6 million to a cultural industry fund to be formed and establish a film special effect company in Gwangju by investing USD 5 million jointly with other partner.

Gwangju-based Daenong Infra entered into USD 75 million export agreement with a Beijing company to supply agricultural materials and fertilizer.

At a cultural industry business conference organize by the Kimdaejung Convention Center and the Gwangju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency, production studio of popular TV animation 'Hello Carbot' and 'Mask Masters' made a toy product development agreement.

Gwangju city also signed a tourism exchange MOU with Guangzhou tourist agencies and promoted the city's tourists' attractions.

Mayor Yoon expressed his hope to further expand cooperation with Guangzhou in new sectors such as culture and tourism.
