GWANGJU < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju City announced that it won the bid for the International Symposium on Electronic Arts 2019.

The annual event has been held under the theme of art, science, and technology since 1988. It features various programs including academic conferences, discussion forums, exhibitions, performances, and art projects which citizens can take part.

Around 1,000 media and digital artists as well as electronic arts experts from 30 countries are expected to gather at this event.

Gwangju will hold the 35th event as a host city for the first time in Korea. Venue for the event will be the Asia Culture Center.

The city has worked for three years with the Graduate School of Culture Technology of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, the Asia Culture Center, the Korea Tourism Organization, and the Gwangju Convention & Visitors Bureau to win the bid, and was selected as a host city after competing with Florence, Italy.
