Gwangju, Nepali Business Persons to Increase Economic Cooperation

(GWANGJU=Newsis News) The City of Gwangju and Nepali business persons have agreed to actively work toward greater economic cooperation between Korea and Nepal.

According to the city on Feb. 28, Mayor Yoon Jang-hyun and City Council member Lee Eun-bang, currently visiting Nepal, met with local businessmen, including CNI (Confederation of Nepalese Industries) President Hari Bhakta Sharma, at a hotel in Kathmandu the previous day, and discussed means to cooperaate on ecoomic issues.

CNI members include business persons from various industries, such as construction and pharmaceuticals, performing key roles in the Nepalese economy.

President Hari mentioned how Nepal considers Korea to have gone through an exemplary model of economic growth. and that he wishes that the large number of promising companies in Nepal will establish a foundation for economic cooperation with Gwangju, adding, Nepal's close proximity to China and India can surely contribute to Korean investments and exports.

Mayor Yoon said he expects that Nepal, with so many possibilities, and Gwangju, with a dynamic industrial structure, can help each other in various ways, and that he hopes the Nepali business persons visit Gwangju in the near future so that they may continue their discussion on economic cooperation.
