(GWANGJU=Newsis News) Urban design specialist and Yokohama City University professor Naoyuki Kuniyoshi has agreed to design the city of Gwangju.

According to the city on April 2, Prof. Kuniyoshi will be visiting Gwangju from Aril 3 to 5 to flesh out the details of the local government's urban design plan.

During his stay, Prof. Kuniyoshi, an advisor to the city's urban design department, will examine and offer advice on the city's ongoing urban design projects including the construction of a walking network around the Asia Culture Center.

Prof. Kuniyoshi has suggested that Gwangju sculpt itself into a "creative and enjoyable" city, centered around the five values of human, history, culture, nature, and technology.
