According to Newsis News,

(GWANGJU=Newsis News) The Gwangju World Kimchi Festival, now in its 24th year, will be expanded.

On April 16, the city of Gwangju established a plan to change the annual festival's schedule so that it can be enjoyed in spring as well as in the fall.

This year, a total of 4 events will take place at the Gwangju Kimchi Town in Imam-dong, Nam-gu.

The first, titled "Making New Kimchi at Home in Spring & Summer," will last for the 3 days beginning May 26. The second, "Matching Autumn Kimchi with Fermented Foods," is scheduled to take place from September 22 to 23.

The third and main event will last for the three days starting on November 17, while the fourth and final event will be held just in time for the traditional kimchi-making season, from November 22 to December 10.

To promote the Kimchi industry, the city has signed contracts with local farms to secure sufficient napa cabbages and other Kimchi ingredients for the events, and is accepting applications year round for participants.
