GWANGJU < invest Korea

(GWANGJU=Newsis News) Gwangju City, South Jeolla Province, Jeonnam Culture & Tourism Foundation and Korea Airports Coorporation's Muan branch signed an agreement on My 10 at the Muan International Airport to join hands to help the airport attract charter flights.

Based on the agreement, Korea Airports Corporation's Muan branch will offer travel agencies that attract charter flights for inbound foreign tourists up to KRW 2.5 million per flight arrival at Muan International Airport.

The incentive is meaningful in that it is provided in addition to the support currently being provided by Gwangju City and South Jeolla Province. Jeonnam Culture & Tourism Foundation will be in charge of reviewing the applications and making the payments.

With fewer Chinese tourists choosing to visit the region, the 3 local governments of Gwangju City and South and North Jeolla Provinces have been stepping up efforts to attract more tourists from Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
