(GWANGJU=Newsis News) Gwangju is stepping up its efforts to develop an electric vehicle (EV) sharing platform, as the city continues to evolve into a leader in environment-friendly cars.
On May 16, leading European automotive research institute Horiba Mira will organize an information session on the development process at the Gwangju Green Car Promotion Agency, the city announce on May 15.
The session will be attended by representatives of the Gwangju City Government, Gwangju Green Car Promotion Agency, research institutes, local auto parts companies, and Joylong Korea.
Earlier in March, the city, together with the Gwangju Green Car Promotion Agency, signed with the U.K.-based Horiba Mira, the three parties agreeing to cooperate on nurturing the eco-friendly automotive industry.
The city requested that Horiba Mira offer proposals on development strategies, planning, designs, and core engineering technology for manufacturing EVs, as well as technology training for local auto parts companies.
At the session on May 16, Horiba Mira plans to suggest a plan for developing an EV sharing platform in different stages, program details, and plans to develop 1-ton electric trucks.
