According to Yonhap News,

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju announced June 1 that it has selected Chonnam National University to be in charge of the city's project to build a testing center for dental materials and equipment by 2018.

Through the project, a total of KRW 3 billion will be spent on building a testing center for certifying locally-produced dental materials and equipment.

Gwangju's dental materials and equipment industry has been growing recently, with numerous businesses in the field opening in the city or moving in from the greater Seoul area.

Existing testing centers, however, are concentrated in the greater Seoul area, creating a significant burden in both time and expenses on local companies that need certification to develop new products.

Once the new center opens, the city expects local companies to benefit from the reduction in time and financial burden, enabling stable growth across the industry.
