(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju announced July 3 that Dayou Winia, upon hold a ceremony in celebration of relocating to its new headquarters in the city, plans to open a new era as a comprehensive global home appliances company.

Earlier, the company relocated its heaquarters and production facilities form Asan, South Chungcheong, to the Hanam Industrial Complex in Gwangju, and has started test operations since June 18.

A total of KRW 30 billion has been injected into the relocation and securing new equipment.

Dayou Winia's main products at the Gwangju factory will be standing Dimchae refrigerators for kimchi, and all-purpose Proud refrigerators with side-be-side doors.

At its factory in the Sochon Industrial Complex, Dayou Winia has been making small home appliances such as Dimcahe Cook rice cookers, air conditioners, and air washers.

The company is expected to work with existing subcontractor companies in the area, creating jobs and revitalizing the local economy.
