(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju Design Center (GDC) announced July 24 that it will be holding an exhibition showcasing 50 representative Korean designs at the art gallery located within the Shinsegae Department Store in Gwangju for 20 days, beginning August 24, under the theme 'Becoming Innovators.'

The exhibition will be curated by Seoul National University honorary professor Lee Soon-jong, who had served as General Director of the first Gwangju Design Biennale.

The designs will be displayed in two section: the first focusing on tradition (Hangeul fonts, tableware, architecture), the second on the latest trends (electronic devices, automobiles, online games).

Meanwhile, the 2017 Gwangju Design Biennale, themed 'Futures,' is scheduled to take place for the 46 days from September 8 to October 23, at various venues in Gwangju.
