GWANGJU < invest Korea

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) The district of Dong-gu in Gwangju Metropolitan City has been selected as a site for this year's Korea Sale FESTA, Korea's largest shopping and tourism festival, securing KRW 70 million in funding to participate in the month-long event.

Co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the 2017 Korea Sale FESTA will kick off on September 28 for a 34-day run.

During the festival, Gwanggju's dong-gu district plans to hold the 14th Chungjang Festival for the five days from October 18 to 22, along the streets of Chungjang-ro and Geumnam-ro.

The Chungjang Festival will feature various discounts offered at restaurants and stores in the area, as well as events sponsored by local merchants.

Dong-gu expects the synergy between the two festivals to lead to an overall increase in revenue for the local economy.
