2017 Gwangju Biennale to Feature Exhibition on Future Cars

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) As part of the 2017 Gwangju Biennale, an exhibition is set to explore the future of the automotive industry with a focus on self-driving and environment-friendly vehicles.

According to the Gwangju Design Center on August 9, the biannual event is scheduled to kick off this year on September 8 for a 46-day run at various venues in the city under the theme "Futures."

Under the theme "Mobility in the Future," the exhibition will showcase proposals for the automotive industry in the age of the fourth industrial revolution.

Kookmin University Professor Song In Ho, who had formerly served as Lead Designer of General Motors' Chevy VOLT Studio and Senior Designer at Hyundai & Kia Motors, will be curating the exhibition.

A total of 25 designers and 12 companies will be participating in the event, including those from related industries, including Kumho Tire and Panasonic.
