According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The state-run Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) said Sunday export deals worth US$1.47 billion were discussed during a business convention held earlier this month, paving the way for local companies to tap deeper into the overseas markets.

The Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology (BIXPO) kicked off Wednesday for a three-day run in Gwangju, 330 kilometers south of Seoul.

The event brought together about 3,000 senior officials and engineers from 268 companies representing 40 countries, including Siemens, General Electric and Microsoft.

The number of visitors to the venue was estimated at 70,000, marking a sharp growth from 50,000 tallied a year earlier, the company said.

KEPCO said it also signed 12 memorandums of understanding with various global partners from the United States, Germany and France.

The event was significant as industry players were able to share ideas on the future of the energy business, KEPCO said, adding it hopes the exposition served as an opportunity for South Korea's competitive companies to penetrate deeper into the global market.
