(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) announced that it will be holding 'Engineering Education Festa 2017' at the KimDaeJoong Convention Center in Gwangju from November 9 to 10 to cultivate and support new talent in engineering fields.
Engineering students from 107 Korean and foreign universities are set to participate in the event, where they will exhibit some 200 outstanding capstone designs.
A capstone design is a final project made by engineering students in lieu of a graduation thesis.
Of the displayed works, 22 received awards.
The Prime Minister's Award, the highest honor at the event, was presented to the 'Seoul National University EV Battery' team.
