Earlier in mid-November, Mayor Yoon and CEO Yang met in Seoul, where they agreed to establish a joint R&D center in Gwangju, and cooperate on technology development and production.
Late last month, a Gwangju city official visited Chilwee Group's headquarters in China, and discussed the means of cooperation.
During the meeting with Mayor Yoon, CEO Yang presented a business model where Chilwee would established a research center in Gwangju with a local electric vehicle parts company, cooperate on planning, design, testing, and certification, make half-finished products in Gwangju, and export those products to China.
Gwangju plans to make a final decision o the business plan after reviewing its feasibility with local auto parts makers.
