According to Yonhap News,

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) On July 1, Gwangju City and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced the selection of Bonchon Industrial Complex for the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy's (MOTIE) "Youth Friendly Industrial Complex" policy project.

The youth friendly industrial complex project entails transforming aged industrial complexes into ones with innovative ecosystems with excellent labor and settlement conditions.

For the next 3 to 4 years, various government departments will provide support for the projects.

This includes MOTIE's information industry center, road and parking lot maintenance from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and accommodation and transportation from the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Gwangju City received positive evaluations for the local government's willingness for transformation and the balanced development of the region.

Gwangju City will consult with MOTIE and come up with a detailed enforcement plan for the project by September and plans to support the improvement of the environment to create a compact industrial complex for SMEs.
