Gwangju to Host International IoT and Home Robotics Fair

According to Yonhap News,

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) The Gwangju International IoT Home Robotics Fair will be held at the Kim Dae Joong Convention Center for 3 days starting July 5.

This year marks the 11th year for the annual event and will feature the advanced technologies and products surrounding IoT, ICT and advanced robots.

The event will have 300 booths operated by 150 companies from 13 different countries.

Samsung Electronics will run an IoT smart home promotion hall.

The 18 outstanding SMEs selected by the region came up with a public brand for Gwangju to incorporate into their corporate brands and will display products under the new, collaborative brand.

At the ICT promotion hall fun by the Daejeon Information Culture Industry Promotion Agency, 24 promising ICT companies from Daejeon will showcase their products featuring VR, AI and big data.

The event will also have an underwater robot developed by the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) and the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean engineering(KRISO) on display. Other products in the exhibition will include a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV), multicopter fixed wing composite drones, agricultural and disaster drones and ultralight flying devices.

New to the fair is a special hall for service robots where they will have an AI-incorporated service robot called "Miraedo," which is also the event's mascot and will serve as a guide for the VIPs.

The event will also have robots for informational services, conversations, photography, singing and more.

Moreover, 40 buyers from 13 countries are invited to take part in export consultations.
