(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) signed an MOU with the Gwangju China Center to promote local economy through increased exchanges with China.

The Gwangju CCI and the China Center agreed to promote friendship between local businesses and China's businesses in main cities, cooperate to invigorate of investment and trade, and promote building Korea-China entrepreneur community.

"We've been neighbors with China for 5 thousand years," said Jung Changsun, Chairman of Gwangju CCI, at the greeting of the signing ceremony, and added "We are expecting that cooperation with the China Center will bring meaningful outcomes to the local businesses."

"We will play a pivotal role in invigorating the local economy by establishing a close cooperation system with Gwangju CCI," answered Jo Gyeong-wan, head of the Gwangju China Center.
