(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) A medical industry fair that showcases ICT healthcare and senior friendly products will be held in Gwangju.

Gwangju City announced on October 3 that it will host the Senior Medical Industry Fair 2018 at Kim Dae-jung Convention Center from October 5 to 7.

Marking its 14th year, the Fair will be attended by 155 companies including those in fields of ICT healthcare, medical tourism, healthcare and beauty, and senior-friendly products, and present various kinds of medical products.

During the event, 50 buyers from 15 countries invited by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will have business meetings.

At the medical industry hall provided by the City, side events including demonstration of medical treatments and free health check-ups.

"The Fair will provide opportunities to showcase various kinds of medical products and to pioneer new overseas markets to the local companies," said Lee Sang-bae, Director General of Strategy and Industry Bureau of the City. "Visitors will be able to see the advanced medical technology."
