The Office of Education announced on January 2 that it will spend KRW 15 billion in the establishment of the Career Experience Center by March 2022.

The Office had set up a project committee last August and has had consultations with local governments regarding the project investment and the selection of the construction area.

Namgu of Gwangju showed commitment to attract the Center.

The Career Experience Center will have a future technologies and careers experience room, a career information room and a career guidance room and etc.

The Center will provide an experience on creative convergence jobs as well as future technologies including big data, AI, 3D printers, drones and coding platforms.

Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will finish making the basic construction plan within this year, and then will ask the local governments for the land, acquire the construction fund and apply for the federal investment review.

If everything goes according to the plan, the construction will begin next year, and by 2022 the Center will open with exhibition rooms and contents.

Compared to other regions, Gwangju lacks infrastructures for career & job experience education, which is the reason why the City plans to establish a Career Experience Center, to allow local students get an experience on future technologies and job contents in the age of Fourth Industrial Revolution.
