(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) On May 2, Gwangju city announced that it will hold "Gwangju G-Food Festival 2019" at Kim Dae-jung Convention Center on May 10 to select foods that represent Gwangju, conveying flavor and history unique to Gwangju,

The Festival consists of 100 persons discussion, exhibition of 9 nominees for representative foods, hands-on experience event, and the place for demonstration and tasting of foods.

9 nominees were selected by survey of the people, public competition, and story: Stir-fried lettuce, Duck stew (Oritang), Rice balls, Songjeong Tteok-galbi, Korean Table d'hote, Noodles in red bean sauce (Pat-Kalguksu), Meat griddle pancakes (Yukjeon), Mudeungsan barley rice and Zucchini stew.

The representative food will be decided by The Gwangju Representative Food Selection Committee, taking into account 100 people discussion, opinions of visitors, and public competition results.
